Currently a piano and voice instructor with his own studio in the DMV, Justin teaches twenty students weekly and hosts three studio recitals each year. He began teaching piano and voice in 2012 at the APSU Community School of the Arts and taught at the Madison Street Music and Arts Academy 2015-2017 and the Greenbelt Music & Arts 2018-2020.
I believe music is a language of its own. Without knowing the language, how can one be expected to appreciate it? Thus it is my foremost desire to teach students the language of music. While I want each student to love playing the piano, my primary purpose is to provide the fundamentals of music, so that every student will be able to incorporate music throughout his or her life.
The history of keyboard instruments spans hundreds of years, and I enjoy sharing music through the piano more than anything else. Classical technique, theory, and history are taught no matter what style is being studied. I take pleasure in teaching the multiple styles of music that I have studied and performed - Classical, Sacred, Broadway, Popular, Jazz, and Improvisation.
